Dr. James Agtuca brings a distinctive blend of healthcare expertise, academic instruction, and community-centered program development to his role as Director of Secondary Education Programs at CAVALRY. With over fifteen years of experience spanning clinical pharmacy, higher education, and nonprofit outreach, Dr. Agtuca approaches workforce development with both the rigor of a scientist and the heart of a servant leader — consistently focused on equipping young people with the skills, confidence, and credentials they need to succeed.
His expertise includes curriculum development, career pathway design, community partnership building, and program outreach across secondary and postsecondary settings. As a co-creator of CAVALRY's Generation E: The Effective Generation curriculum and a former AmeriCorps VISTA Partnership and Outreach Coordinator, he has direct, hands-on experience building the very programs he now leads. He is skilled at engaging school districts, campus leaders, and community stakeholders to expand access to career readiness opportunities for opportunity youth and underserved students across San Antonio.
A Doctor of Pharmacy graduate of Wingate University and a Biology alumnus of the University of the Incarnate Word, Dr. Agtuca also holds PMI's Project Management Ready certification and Google's Project Management Professional certificate. He brings to CAVALRY a rare combination of academic credibility, community trust, and programmatic expertise that strengthens every secondary pathway CAVALRY delivers.
