Holidays Around The World is a service-learning event led by our Project Manager Apprentices and staffed by the CAVALRY Corp Volunteers.  This program is a mission-focused event that takes place in the wintertime (Christmas-New Year) where all 3 CAVALRY Programs—CAVALRY CORP, CAPM, and SERVE—come together to participate in giving back to high-needs schools and nonprofits by creating stations that represent different countries from around the world and the cultural traditions celebrated during the holidays.

 

At the Holidays Around the World event, children and families from the selected Title I schools and area nonprofits receive items donated from local business coalition partners, students/student organizations, coalition members, and from the Amazing Race For HOPE. The participants experience a fun-filled day, cultural experiences, food, and games. Our SOAR schools reported this service-learning event as one of the best for their students in terms of fun, knowledge gained, and respect for other cultures and religions.
